Abstract (Abstrak)

Marine debris are all solid materials that are not found naturally (a product of human
activities) in water areas (oceans, beaches) and can pose a direct threat to the condition
and productivity of the water area and require certain specific actions to prevent and
minimize negative effects. In the waters there are also various types and sizes of debris
found on the shoreline and this is categorized into 3 parts, namely mega-debris (> 1 m),
macro debris (1 m-2.6 cm) and meso debris (2.5 cm - 5mm). Marine debris data
collection is carried out during low tide conditions. Sampling of marine debris was carried
out in areas above and below the highest tides. The sampling area has a shoreline length
of 100 m perpendicular to the coastline which is divided into 20 lanes so that each lane
has a length of 5 m. Number each lane (left and right) from 1 to 20, from that lane choose
4 of them at random. Based on the research results, the types of waste found on the
coast of the lagoon consist of 60% plastic waste, 8% plastic foam waste, 2% fabric waste,
4% glass and ceramic waste, 4% metal waste, 3% cardboard and cardboard waste,
rubber waste 6%, 12% wood waste, 1% other material waste. The total marine debris
found at the four stations on Laguna Beach was 1843 items weighing 38864 grams. The
average abundance of marine debris in Laguna Beach is 0.88 items/m² with an average
abundance of marine debris in Laguna Beach is 20.50 grams/m².
