Abstract (Abstrak)

Based on the classification of Indonesia as a high risk zone in the disaster risk index, Maros Regency, South Sulawesi Province, is a high risk zone for floods, fires, landslides and tornadoes, and BPBD has not maximized the management and utilization of information in response to disaster phenomena. an effort is needed that can support the performance of the BPBD. This study aims to analyze the strategies, techniques, and principles implemented in analyzing the use of information technology in disaster management in the BPBD of Maros Regency and the factors that affect Information Technology in disaster management. This type of research is the analytical survey method with cross sectional design. There are 90 employees who work in the BPBD, and all of them are sampled. Data collection uses a research questionnaire that has been tested for validity and reliability. Data analysis was performed using univariate, bivariate, and multivariate tests. From the research results obtained bivariate test results show that the use of information technology related to human resources includes sub employee performance (p = 0.000), knowledge (p = 0.018), training (p = 0.000) where there is an effect when the p value <0.05. The multivariate test results show that employee performance and training in the use of information technology greatly affect disaster management. Based on the results of this study, it is suggested that employee performance and training be the focus of measurement in increasing the use of information technology in disaster management, but in the assessment system, there are many aspects that are more competent in improving BPBD performance itself..
