Abstract (Abstrak)

One of the places that are vulnerable to congestion around the high school (SMA) or vocational high school (SMK) at entry and after school hours. Schools generally do not have a parking lot or a specific place or to drop off passengers. This led to the introduction of vehicles and pickup students to stop or park on the road leading to the reduction of road capacity. As a result, when the volume of traffic passing through the road increases, traffic congestion. The purpose of this research is to create a model of the student movement against the pull of the selection mode of transportation used when going to and from school.
The survey was conducted at five state secondary school in makassar. The survey results were analyzed by linear regression analysis to obtain a model of the most significant mathematical equations.
The analysis shows the best model to predict movement attracted toward high school is y = 2.073-0.250 x5 – 0.532 x13 - x14 0.532 + 0.130 + 0.056 x17 x18 where: r2 = 0.511, y is the cost of transportation to school, x5 is ownership car, x13 is round school by private vehicle, x14 is round school by way picked, x17 is the distance between home and school, x18 is the travel time to school.
