Abstract (Abstrak)
The development of technology in the industrial world has a very important role. One of them is developments in the field of automation. This is due to increased consumer demand for goods produced from an industry. Industry needs a system that can work efficiently in selecting its products. This becomes a problem when this process is still done manually with human labor. Therefore we need an item selection system that can prevent the risk of error due to human negligence. This research aims to design an automatic goods separator system in the form of a conveyor based on PLC Siemens Simatic S7-300 and to make a prototype of an automatic goods separator in the form of a miniature conveyor. This prototype can separate objects based on the height and type of material. The research was conducted by designing a PLC-based automatic goods separator system prototype. This system uses a Siemens Simatic S7-300 PLC to control sensor components and dc motors. The PLC device is programmed using the Ladder Diagram on the TIA Portal V14 software. This system consists of a 6v dc motor to drive the conveyor, two 6v dc motors to propel objects, a metal sensor to detect metal objects, an infrared sensor to detect the height of objects, and four limit switches to control the direction of rotation of the motor. The result of this test is a prototype of the Siemens Simatic S7-300 PLC-based automatic goods separator system has worked in accordance with the research objectives.
