Abstract (Abstrak)

ABSTRACT
Nurlina, E071171006 “Corona Bride: A Study on Wedding Processions during the Covid-19 Pandemic in Mattunru-Tunrue Village, Cempa District, Pinrang Sul-Sel” S.1. Department of Anthropology, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Hasanuddin University. Under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Pawennari Hijjang, MA and Hardiyanti, S.Sos., M.Si.
In Pinrang Regency, especially the Mattunru-tunrue Village area, it is more familiar to call Covid-19 as Corona and is also one of the areas that have felt the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic. It was during this pandemic period that the term "corona bride" appeared, which was adapted from the term corona which was then associated with the implementation of marriages held during the Covid-19 pandemic. This research was conducted in the village of Mattunru-tunrue, district. Cempa District. Pinrang, South Sulawesi. Informants in this study were determined purposively. The research informants in question are the bride and groom, the bride's family, the community (as invited guests) and religious leaders. This study focuses on the wedding procession which was carried out during the Covid-19 pandemic which is related to preparation for marriage, the stage of marriage, how to apply health protocols during the wedding procession in the title and the public's view of corona brides. The results of the study indicate that it is necessary to pay attention to the completeness of preparations for getting married during the Covid-19 pandemic, such as marriage documents, crowd permits, Three in one; make-up, fashion and decoration, entertainment and invitations. There are some differences from the previous marriage. This happens because during the wedding procession it is expected to comply with the requirements and rules that must be obeyed according to the procedure if it violates the rules, the authorities have the right to dissolve the marriage. one of them is implementing the 3M health protocol. In Bugis society, marriage is not only a ceremony for the inauguration of a relationship between a human couple but also a benchmark for a person's socioeconomic status, seen from how luxurious the procession is, the entertainment provided and the number of invited guests present. The people in Mattunru-tunrue Village are mostly Bugis, so this principle can be said to apply there as well. However, during the Covid-19 pandemic, weddings were held simply because of certain policies issued by the government so that social strata became blurred among the people.
