Abstract (Abstrak)

The most common problems experienced by the textile industry in Indonesia is
still a high level of color levels of waste that they dispose into the environment
, as well as high levels of chromium contained in the dye . One of the
materials that can be used to reduce levels of color and chrome contained in
the waste is by using a zeolite, but in order to get the most need to know the
size of the zeolite. Therefore, we need an analysis to determine the effect of the
grain size of the zeolite to reduce levels of color and chrome are there in
textile waste. In this study, researchers used a treatment using zeolite filtration
system with a diameter < 0.5 cm and > 0.5 cm to determine the effect of grain
size and grain size to get the most effective for treating the waste. From the
study it was found that zeolite diameter < 0.5 cm is more effective in lowering
the levels of color and chrome in the waste than the diameter of zeolite > 0.5
cm.
