Abstract (Abstrak)

The interdiction recombination of electron and hole and enhancement visible light absorption is important parameters for boosting efciency wastewater photodegradation treatment. For this purpose, the various amount of activated carbon (AC)/ Chitosan in the form of composite Ca2Fe2O5-AC/Chitosan were synthesized by solid state method. The structural properties analysis from the X-ray difraction (XRD) spectra, the existing functional group, and optical properties from the analysis of Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectra, and the energy bandgap and photocatalyst performance analysis from the Ultra- violet–visible (UV–Vis) spectra. The band gap energy of the composite Ca2Fe2O5-AC/Chitosan decreases with increasing the amount of AC/Chitosan in the composite. Photodegradation was carried out using fpronil simulated pesticides wastewater, for 5% AC/Chitosan-Ca2Fe2O5 degraded about 76.95% in 60 min irradiation indicated a high stable photocatalyst, may be due to high crystallite size, distance between two optical phonon, adsorption capacity, and kinetic rate constant. These fnd- ing suggest for using chitosan and activated carbon in future for increase the efciency photocatalyst of fpronil wastewater which were working by suppressing recombination of the charge (electron and hole).
