Abstract (Abstrak)

Silver barb fish (Barbonymus gonionotus) was a big catch found in the waters of Lake Tempe, Wajo Regency, South Sulawesi. Silver barb fish (Barbonymus gonionotus) fishing in the Lake Tempe using several types of fishing gear, including gill nets or gill nets with mesh size 4 cm, 4.5 cm, 5 cm, 6.5 cm, 7 cm, and 9 cm, dragon trap and lift net. The purpose of this research was to analyze the aspects of population dynamics of Silver barb fish (Barbonymus gonionotus) which includes age groups, growth, mortality, exploitation rate, and yield per recruitment. This research was carried out for two months, namely in November – December 2021. Sampling was carried out using the stratified random sampling method, where fish were grouped into small, medium, and large, and from each age group of fish were taken randomly. Total samples obtained were 1600 fishes with a total length range of 10-33 cm and an average length of 19.8 cm. The results of the analysis obtained 2 age groups, the first age group is in the length range of 10-18 cm and the second age group is in the length range of 18-33 cm. Fish asymptote length (L∞) = 45 cm with a coefficient value (K) = 0.5 per year and the age of the fish at long equals zero (t0) = -0.2919 years. The value of the coefficient (K) is exactly at 0.5 per time relatively, its growth is relatively fast and requires a short time to reach its asymptote length. Natural mortality value (M) was 1.05 per year, fishing mortality (F) = 2.19 per year, and total mortality (Z) = 3.24 per year. The exploitation rate value of Silver barb fish (Barbonymus gonionotus) was 0.68 and has been exceeding the optimum exploitation rate (0.50), overfishing occurs in the area. The yield value per recruitment (Y/R') was 0.0166 g/recruitment, therefore the recruitment process was not normal.
