Abstract (Abstrak)

Objective: Currently, the main focuses of nursing care quality in Indonesia are for patient cen- tered care, high quality of nursing management, and affordable medical costs. This investigated the effectiveness of the application of PDCA method for enhancing the quality of nursing care. Methods: This systematic review was guided by PRISMA and three research databases (PubMed, ProQuest, and Science Direct). Results: Eight articles were included in this review and tested for its quality with regards to the application of the PDCA method in nursing care by using the Critical Appraisal Skills Program (CASP) and Joanna Briggs Institute (JBI). This review confirms that applying the PDCA method in nursing care can improve the quality of patient life; reduce anxiety, depression, and emotional problems; overcome digestive disorders; reduce pain; adhere to critical value reporting; and increase of medical compliance. Conclusion: The PDCA method effectively improves the quality of nursing care.
