Abstract (Abstrak)
Abstract: Background. Colorectal cancer is the third most common cancer worldwide with a high mortality rate at the advanced stage. Determining the prognosis of patient become crucial in order to give the right treatment in the right time. Histopathology grades and TNM staging might play important roles in order to determine the prognosis of the patient, it is widely known that tumor histopathological grading support the prognosis of the patient although its rarely use for independent prognostic factor. The anatomical site of the tumor might also contribute in order to determine patients prognosis as the left and right colon are originating from different mutation pathways. Is there any correlation of TNM Staging and tumor location with histopathological grading which may lead doctors to determine the prognosis of colorectal cancer patients. Objectives. to find if there is correlation between tumor location and TNM staging with histopathological grading of colorectal cancer patient in RS Wahidin Sudirohusodo in 2018. Methods. This study uses secondary data in the form of medical records from patient with colorectal cancer in RS Wahidin Sudirohusodo during 2018. The secondary data must fulfill some criteria which are histopathological diagnostic must contain tumor differentiation and the location or site of the tumor must be included. The correlation of variables is calculated using chi-square. Result. From 75 samples analyzed in this study, it was found that the location of tumor and histopathology grades shows no significant correlation (p=0,555) and the correlation of TNM staging and histopathology grades shows significant correlation (p=0.019). Conclusion. There was no significant correlation between tumor location and histopathology grades in colorectal cancer patients of RS Wahidin Sudirohusodo in 2018 and there was significant correlation between TNM staging and histopathology grades in colorectal cancer patients of RS Wahidin Sudirohusodo in 2018.
