Abstract (Abstrak)

ABSTRACT
Titled “Analysis of Burikko (ぶりっ子) Gestures on Japanese Variety Show Hiragana Oshi (ひらがな推し)”.
(Supervised by Nursidah, S.Pd., M.Pd. and Nurfitri, S.S., M.Hum.)
This study aims to explain the types and meanings of Burikko (ぶりっ子) gestures shown on the Japanese variety show Hiragana Oshi (ひらがな推し) using a pragmatic study.
By using Miller's burikko theory and the reference to the burikko gesture from Cancam Magazine, researchers were able to describe the types and meanings of burikko found in each screenshot of the Japanese variety show Hiragana Oshi. The data that has been found is categorized based on each type of burikko and then describes the meaning of each gesture found on the screen of the Japanese variety show Hiragana Oshi.
From the results of the study, the researcher found 8 types and meanings of gestures, the punsuka gesture to express feeling upset with someone , the pero gesture and the gaogao gesture to attract the interlocutor's attention, the ahiruguchi gesture to express when you feeling shocked, the yahoo gesture to call the other person, the gomenne gesture to apologize, the ureshii gesture to express joy and the hanbiraki no guchi gesture to express someone while thinking.
