dc.description.abstract Abstract The dynamics of the particles in a microscopic scale is expressed by the Schrödinger equation. This research discusses solutions of the Schrödinger equation using numerical methods, i.e., transfer matrix method. This method is executed in Matlab. The calculated physical quentities in this research are wave function, probability distribution, and transmittance. Various types of potential are considenced, i.e., potential square, potential wells, parabolic potential, and the periodic potential from atomic nuclei.The obtained results are in a good agreement with analytical to results. For all potential cases, the greater the energy of electron, the larger the wave number. The probability of finding electron is always smaller in the area of potential scattering. Electron transmittance is greater if the electron energy increases. Key words: Schrödinger equation, quantum particles, the transfer matrix method, the transmittance. en_US
